Well they gone done it. Unprecedented laws that allow the government to gather your internet data have passed and to stick the boot in they have exempted themselves from those laws. One rule for you and another for them. In the name of ‘protection from terrorism’ and ‘child safety’ the government is regulating your access to the internet and storing details about your search history in a move that makes Orwell’s world of 1984 seem like a mild case of curiosity. Rife for abuse, these laws are invasive, dangerous and an example of puritanical bullshit of the worst order. I hope to do a much more strucured video on this but in the meantime here’s my ramblaholic rant about it.

A Ramblaholic Rant About… The Snoopers Charter, Government Hypocrisy and Porn
Got something to say? Go for it!
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now, and I’m extremely fond of them.
I agree one-hundred percent with your privacy rant ( and apathy is an even bigger enemy than the government ).
However, you are wrong about Hillary Clinton. You seem to be portraying her as the evil one, and she is not.
The RIGHT-WING in the United States have been going after the Clintons for approximately thirty fucking years!… Think about how absurd that is, and how much effort that requires.
She was NOT the bad person in this election. Her so-called secret emails were NOT illegal, and that did NOT cost her the election. She WON the people’s vote, and that’s the ONLY vote that should matter in a true democracy.
Once again, NAZI-TRUMP did NOT win the election. He was NOT the people’s choice. He was SELECTED by a handful of insane assholes. Our votes were STOLEN and VOIDED by the Electoral College.
The American people NEVER authorized the Electoral College to speak on their behalves.
How many members of the Electoral College were paid-off, or blackmailed into choosing NAZI-TRUMP?… People can laugh all they want, but far stranger things have happened. Given all the interference by Vladimir Putin and Julian Assange ( an ENEMY of privacy ), it’s NOT that crazy to think the worse.
Think about this… in January, an INFANTILE-DELUSIONAL-FASCIST-LUNATIC ( who was NOT elected to office ), is going to become THE MOST POWERFUL PERSON ON EARTH…. and APATHY may end-up becoming an even worse enemy than NAZI-TRUMP and his JUNTA…..
Thank you for your comment. However… I do have to disagree with several points. I don’t think I ever called Clinton ‘evil’ but I do rather think she is the epitome of everything wrong with establishment politics. When I look into her choices, her constantly flipping position, her eagerness to bomb foreign countries, her ties to big business, her divisive use of identity politics, the DNC’s manipulation of the primaries, her dismissal of the base (done with extreme arrogance and alienating language) amongst all manner of things, I look at her with utter contempt. The Clintons have had many shady dealings including creating the situation that caused the economic collapse apart from anything else (this point of deregulating the banks was one reason we wanted to see her transcripts for her paid for big bank doner talks). That said, Trump is a disastrous choice as well. His potential picks for government are as laughable as they are scary. It remains to be seen what he actually does but he’s never been a person I have ever liked… ever. He’s an egomaniac (but then so is Hilary) a pillock and a wildcard as a choice to run the USA. He did, however, win the election.
You know as well as anyone I’m sure how the electoral college works. The Dems had plenty of time to deal with it but they didn’t. As a political structure I do understand why it exists and yeah it needs sorting out but when that’s done it should be recognised why it exists. The needs of the high population centres are very different to that of those in rural areas and it’s important that those people are not alienated and excluded from the choices the country makes. One man one vote sounds fair until you realise it means no one but the cities get to choose the president. It’s very far from perfect and needs addressing but disenfranchising those people in the process is not a good idea.
For what it’s worth I appreciate you comments but from my point of view I honestly think both of the candidates were astonishingly bad choices and the backlash that has happened is in no small part the fault of both Clinton and the DNC who managed to chase a vital demographic away from her party and don’t forget how rude she was about all that and how much she resisted transparency regarding her ties to big doners.
But enough about that. I’m sure you probably don’t agree and that’s your right but it is a very brief part of why I can’t be surprised that Trump, a wholly unsuitable, unpopular and undesirable candidate won. To think that Clinton couldn’t trounce him in the election says more about her than it does about him. When it comes to the emails I would say that they revealed a lot about her and actually yeah, they were kinda illegal given she handled state secrets through them and it was entirely against government procedures for her to do that as she did. It seems obvious to me that she did it not for convenience but to allow her more control over how much of her communication could be available through freedom of information requests. That at the very least is deeply suspicious and devious and while other politicians may have done it too, she got caught doing it. For what it’s worth I think that any politician found to have behaved like that should be taken to task.
I’m sure this is not the response you may want to hear and I hope you don’t take offence to my thoughts on the subject. I must say the choice between the two was awful to the core. Had I been voting in that election I’d have gone with a third party. I hate Trump, I hate Clinton and it’s awful that the country was only left with a choice between the two. As it is, with the political situation in my own country, I do sympathise with your frustration. Right now we have an unelected prime minister who is so regressive and hard right conservative that even Trump would struggle to do half of what PM May has done and is about to do. I don’t know anything about your stance in politics but I suspect we would see eye to eye on many things.
Kind regards
Glenn
