PARASITE VHSA killer leech is manufactured by a scientist who suddenly finds a good reason to kill it off. After finding himself host to an unwelcome passenger he runs away to find time to destroy his creation but the powers that be, in the form of an evil government type corporation, want him and his little friend back and will do anything to get what they want. In the ruins of the countryside the good doctor must fight not only his former bosses but the local thugs to survive long enough to kill this new threat to humanity, the parasite must die.
This Sci-fi horror takes elements of Alien and mixes it into a mildly Mad Max setting in a surprisingly atmospheric movie that keeps the laughs to a minimum. Staring a young Demi Moore in her first feature role Parasite has a decent cast for such a low budget film and also boasts the talents of Stan Winston in the FX department. One thing I didn’t mention in the review is that the soundtrack is excellent, it’s atmospheric and classy beyond what I would have expected the film to have. The 3D version of the film is also up on Youtube should you wish to check it out (and give yourself an anaglyph induced hangover).
